Apple TV+ has unveiled the first official trailer for the upcoming season of Slow Horses. The dark comedy spy-drama is returning to Apple’s streaming platform later this year for its third outing.

Slow Horses follows a dysfunctional team of British spies who serve in the MI5 dumping ground of Slough House following career-ending mistakes. The intelligence agents frequently find themselves blundering around the smoke and mirrors of the espionage world.

The series has received widespread acclaim since its debut in 2022 and has earned several BAFTA TV Award nominations, including lead actor Gary Oldman’s first for Best Lead Actor. The series is adapted from Mick Herron’s award-winning spy series Slough House, with the upcoming season based on the third novel, Real Tigers.

In the new season, a romantic liaison in Istanbul threatens to expose a buried MI5 secret in London. When Jackson Lamb (Oldman) and his team of misfits are dragged into the fight, they find themselves caught in a conspiracy that threatens the future not just of Slough House but of MI5 itself.

Apple dropped the first-look trailer for Slow Horses season three on Tuesday (November 7), which sees Lamb and his team tasked with hunting down a team of highly-trained, ex-military MI5 agents who have gone rogue. The clip also reveals that Lamb’s Slow Horses colleague Catherine Standish has been kidnapped by the MI5 traitors.

Plenty of returning cast members are seen in the new trailer, including Kristin Scott Thomas, Jack Lowden, Saskia Reeves, Rosalind Eleazar and Jonathan Pryce. Fans should expect plenty of twists and turns in the conspiracy-ridden series, with abundant action and espionage alongside the show’s typically British brand of dry, tongue-in-cheek, humour.

Join Apple TV+ to stream Slow Horses season three. Other spy shows are available with Amazon’s Prime Video and Netflix.
