Coleen Rooney reveals text chat with Rebekah Vardy before explosive Wagatha post

Coleen Rooney has exposed her text chat with Rebekah Vardy which took place before her explosive Wagatha post accuding the fellow WAG of leaking stories to the press.

The 37-year-old speaks in her new memoir, My Account, about the Wagatha Christie case which includes revealing texts between the pair. In one section Coleen explained what happened when she found that someone was selling stories from her private social media.

Coleen wrote that she posted a story to her private page firing a 'warning shot' to whoever had been leaking details from her private Instagram page. In her book, she penned: "I took a screenshot of the pyjamas article with the caption, 'The grease strikes again. I put that picture on, wondering if it would appear in that horrible newspaper. You're accepted as one of my friends, if you really need the money that bad you could've always asked instead of being sly'."

Coleen explained Rebekah commented on the post, writing "What a joke" alongside an angry face emoji before the Dancing on Ice star reached out to Coleen on WhatsApp. Sharing the messages, Coleen said Rebekah wrote: "OMG WTF is wrong with people! Why have they taken that one of you and the kids and not of Wayne in bed! That would've been a better story in their eyes d*** heads! Hope you are ok x".

Coleen then replied: "Sorry love, just getting back to everyone... been up the wall since I got back from holiday and it was Kai's birthday yesterday. It was that picture of Wayne and the kids they gave to the Sun. However, they can't print it so they just wrote about it. It's not even the photos am bothered about cause I have nothing to hide, it's just annoying that someone taking and sharing it with them!!

"Nothing I've ever dealt with before, but just thought I'd let them know I know what they are up to." She then went on to say she hoped Rebekah's family was okay.

Rebekah carried on the conversation by saying: "That is so bad! And the Sun of all people as well! Have you been through all your followers? No one with any celeb mag links? What about being hacked? I would be chomping it that was me! Not on at all x."

Explaining that she has looked at who it could be selling her stories, Coleen said: "Yeh, been through all but can't remember anyone. Got a few people onto it trying to source but if they're getting the info they're not going to tell. Had things like this in the past and never got to find out x".

"Yeah, that's true! You don't think the paper has hacked your account do you? x," Rebekah asked. However, Coleen replied saying she "very much" doubts that would be the case.

The wife Wayne Rooney limited who could see her personal posts in an effort to out the person who was selling stories in a sting operation. After publishing fake stories to her social media account back in 2019, to determine where the leak was coming from, Coleen then decided to post a statement which would take the media by storm.

Taking to Instagram, Twitter and Facebook, she wrote: "I have saved and screenshotted all the original stories which clearly show just one person has viewed them. It’s… Rebekah Vardy’s account." The infamous social media post is what caused the public to dub the fall.out as Wagatha Christie.

Rebekah then went on to sue Coleen for libel, which was dubbed the Wagatha Christie case. However, a judge went on to rule on Coleen's favour.
