The body of a "well-loved" Brit who disappeared from Kent more than three months ago has been found in the Netherlands, authorities in the UK have confirmed.

Liam Graham, 22, from Medway, Kent, was reported missing in Stoke Road, between Lower Stoke and Hoo this summer. Hundreds of people, including his loved ones and volunteers, conducted exhaustive searches in the area after he vanished on July 22. Dutch authorities alerted Kent Police after they located the body of a man, who was subsequently identified as Liam, this week. The force said his body was recovered on Monday and informed his family, who have since shared their heartbreak in a post on Facebook.

A spokesperson for the force said: "A body recovered in the Netherlands has been identified as that belonging to a missing man from Medway. Liam Graham, 22, was reported missing on Saturday, July 22 2023, from Lower Stoke. Officers carried out extensive searches to find him over several weeks but were unable to locate him. On Monday, Kent Police was contacted by the Dutch authorities stating they had recovered the body of a man. On the following day, it was confirmed the body was that of Mr Graham. Kent Police is continuing to work with colleagues in the Netherlands to establish the circumstances surrounding his death."

A Facebook group, Search For Liam, had been set up to share any information on Liam's whereabouts shortly after he went missing, reports Kent Live. More than 10,000 joined the group. Earlier today (November 8), Liam's mum Joanna Graham confirmed his death in the group. She said: “I just wanted to let everyone know that Liam has been found. Sadly Liam has passed.I just wanted to thank everyone for their help and support. But please can everyone respect that me and my family need our time to process this and be together.” Back in August, Liam's sister Holly Graham told KentLive: “He is a well-loved uncle, brother, son and grandson. There are hundreds of people out there looking for him, following the police."
