Apple TV+ is gearing up to release another blockbuster series, as Slow Horses returns for a third season. Since its premiere last year, the dark-comedy spy drama has received widespread acclaim and has earned several BAFTA TV Award nominations, including lead actor Gary Oldman’s first for Best Lead Actor.
The series is adapted from Mick Herron’s award-winning spy series Slough House, with season three based on the third novel, Real Tigers. In addition to the upcoming season, Apple TV+ has already announced a fourth season, set to be adapted from the fourth novel, Spook Street.

What is Slow Horses about?
Slow Horses is a darkly humorous espionage drama that follows a dysfunctional team of British spies who serve in the MI5 dumping ground of Slough House due to their career-ending mistakes. The intelligence agents frequently find themselves blundering around the smoke and mirrors of the espionage world.

Who is in the cast of Slow Horses?
Oscar-winner Gary Oldman returns as Jackson Lamb, the brilliant but misanthropic leader of the spies. The ensemble cast also includes The English Patient’s Kristin Scott Thomas, Dunkirk’s Jack Lowden, Luther’s Saskia Reeves, Class of ‘09’s Rosalind Eleazar and The Crown’s Jonathan Pryce.
Gangs of London’s Sope Dirisu joins the season three cast as Sean Donovan, the former head of security at the British embassy in Istanbul. He stars alongside Fantastic Beasts star Katherine Waterston as Alison Dunn, an MI5 agent who uncovers a dark secret at the heart of the agency.

When is Slow Horses season three released?
Slow Horses premieres with a two-episode drop on Wednesday, November 29, followed by one new episode weekly, every Wednesday. It is available to stream with a subscription to Apple TV+ for £8.99 a month and can also be enjoyed without paying a penny thanks to Apple TV+’s seven-day free trial.
