Gold Cup-winning trainer Henry de Bromhead celebrated his birthday with a 194-1 double at Cheltenham.

Dancing On My Own gave the 51-year-old a flying start at 14-1 in the Epic Value At William Hill Handicap Chase. Rachael Blackmore's mount was left clear by the final fence fall of popular favourite Haddex Des Obeaux.

Whacker Clan then bagged the 3m 1f handicap chase – taking his stable's prize money haul to £62,000.

Louise Foyle, spokesperson for the 12-1 shot's syndicate, said: "It has made our year to have a winner at Cheltenham. We could not be happier.

Flooring Porter hit the target on his first attempt over fences – and is 10-1 for a Cheltenham Festival treble.

His smooth two and a half length call, with Keith Donoghue riding, prompted the Brown Advisory quote. The 2021 and 2022 Stayers' Hurdle hero finished fourth to Sire Du Berlais in his March hat-trick bid.

"He went to the top of the hill very well which is great to see the engine is still there," trainer Gavin Cromwell said. “It was a case of seeing how we get on today and then we will map a course."

At Kelso, Lucinda Russell apologised after "tired" Grand National titleholder Corach Rambler flopped on his return. The top weight failed to beat a single rival in the Edinburgh Gin Chase, won by Elvis Mail.

Bookmakers cut Ancient Wisdom to 6-1 (from 12-1) for next year's Derby in response to his impressive Kameko Futurity Trophy success.

Dubawi's supplemented son stepped up for a length and three quarters supremacy in the Doncaster mud.

"It’s a very important race for next year and I was delighted with Ancient Wisdom," said jockey Will Buick.

"Even on that ground, the last furlong when he levelled up I thought he showed a good bit of brilliance today. He’s done nothing but strengthen all year, so a winter on his back will do him even better."
