The X Factor star Christopher Maloney recently shared his 'one wish' about his recent cosmetic procedures after undergoing 25 different operations.
The 45-year-old Big Brother star has been open about having body dysmorphia – a mental health condition where you spend a lot of time worrying about your appearance, according to the NHS. Most recently he had four cosmetic procedures done in three months and admitted it was "a bit much".
Chris, who was on X Factor in 2012, started changing his appearance due to the negative comments he received during his time on the singing competition. During an appearance on This Morning in 2015, he admitted: "X Factor was great, but as the series was going on, I was getting really bad trolls and they were telling me that they were going to kill me, shoot me.
"I was called Mr Potato Head, that I was ugly, that I had a big nose and it just affected me so much and at the end of the final, I did have a breakdown." Despite having a good support system, he ended up having a 'breakdown' and was admitted to a clinic for help. He turned to surgery even though he never used to think about it as an option.
Earlier this year, he admitted that his body dysmorphia is so severe that he 'feels sick' whenever he looks at himself in the mirror. He made the admission after his 20th surgery. The star flew to Poland for blepharoplasty, a surgery where your eyelids are reconstructed and excess skin is removed.
X Factor's Honey G spills on strict fitness regime after two stone weight loss"My body dysmorphia, my anxiety and depression have taken over my life. In the past 12 months it's gone into overdrive," he said while recovering from the surgery. "This is my 20th surgery in seven years and it's really major. I know it's excessive but I just can't help it. I need to stop but I can't.
"I started counselling but I'm really down and depressed dealing with this. I'm not doing this for vanity reasons, it's an uncontrollable addiction."
Earlier this year, he listed all the cosmetic procedures he had done. They included seven nose jobs, eight hair transplants, teeth tweakments and three eye operations.
"When I look in the mirror I feel sick," Christopher explained earlier this year. "I pick at myself all the time and I'm constantly putting myself down. I have really good friends around me but they can't save me, it's down to myself and putting my health first. I've had so many supportive and loving messages from fans too but it's easier said than done to make a change."
He has been offered free surgery in the past but still spent around £100,000 on cosmetic surgeries. In 2017, he joined Danniella Westbrook on a trip to Poland for a nose job, eye lift and hair transplant. When he returned home, he was rushed to the hospital after suffering from deep vein thrombosis.
A source told The Sun at the time: "Doctors gave him some blood-thinning drugs and after some observation time, sent him home to recover. He can’t stop thinking about how lucky he was – there are so many horror stories about DVT clots travelling into the heart or lungs. It’s a killer."
And now, Chris recently returned from getting veneers done and said he thinks he's gone 'too far' with his treatments. Speaking to the Liverpool Echo about his new 'Turkey teeth', he said: "I was a bit apprehensive going abroad to get my teeth done, but my old teeth were done in the UK and very poorly fitted, they were all chipped and I couldn't really speak properly. But going to Comfortzonedent in Bodrum was the best choice."
He added: "I'm so pleased with my new smile, and I'm so so pleased with my new nose now the swelling is subsiding. All I have to do now is wait eight months for my new hair transplant to grow, then I'll be content."
The treatments all took place within 12 weeks, with Chris saying he thinks he should have staggered the surgeries. He admitted: "I just wish I'd have spaced them out, as I think, double eye-Blepharoplasty, nose job, hair transplant, new teeth all in 12 weeks is a bit much for anyone's body to take. But it's done now and I'm happy with the result."
