Arsenal are reportedly set to revisit their interest in Aston Villa star Douglas Luiz, having previously tried to sign him last year.
Mikel Arteta is said to be keen to strengthen his midfield options in the January transfer window as the Gunners mount another Premier League title bid. They currently sit third in the league, just two points behind leaders Tottenham Hotspur and level with reigning champions Manchester City.
Arsenal did revamp their midfield options over the summer with the big money signings of Declan Rice and Kai Havertz, but Arteta and sporting director Edu are weighing up their options ahead of January.
According to various reports, Luiz remains on their radar following an impressive start to the new season under ex-Arsenal boss Unai Emery. Arteta and Edu are said to be big fans of the Brazilian, having had three bids of up to £25m for him rejected by Villa in the summer of 2022.
News of the Gunners' interest in Luiz will come as a boost to Liverpool, as if Arsenal make a move for the 25-year-old that will help the Reds' pursuit of Fluminense star Andre Trinidade.

"Liverpool's Chief Executive [Billy Hogan] contacted me directly," Fluminense president Mario Bittencourt told ESPN Brasil last month when relaying the Reds' interest.
"I replied to him: 'My friend, I don't sell players now and I don't deliver them now. If you want to buy now, and only get the player in January, we can start talking... Or if you want to wait until December, we can talk in December."
Fluminense are set to face Boca Juniors in the Copa Libertadores final on November 4 and it seems the player will be on the move in the January transfer window. "There is an agreement between us, with the player and agent, that he would stay until the end of the year," Bittencourt added.
"They [player and agent] have complied fully and with the utmost peace of mind. Every interest that comes in, they communicate with Fluminense."
