Strictly Come Dancing star Karen Hauer broke her silence after she and Eddie Kadi were eliminated from the dancing competition.
The professional dancer and comedian Eddie were a big hit with the judges and fans despite receiving low scores. On Sunday night, their Strictly journey came to an end after going up against Love Island star Zara McDermott and her dance partner Graziano di Prima in the dreaded dance-off.
Following the elimination, Karen took to social media to pay tribute to Eddie. She posted a carousel of behind-the-scenes photos of the duo and captioned it: " To my best friend… @comeddiekadi. No one really gets to see the real Eddie behind the scenes. The man that works hard day in day out.
"Even on those rainy days that you didn’t feel like smiling or telling a joke, you still pulled through and stayed true to yourself. Thank you for your friendship and your unconditional attention and support."
Fans were heartbroken that they were eliminated from the show and took to the comment section to express their disappointment. One user said: "Gutted you’re gone you really did not deserve to go out this week you were fab."
Strictly's Molly Rainford and Tyler West fuel romance rumours while on tourAnother user said: "I didn’t know Eddie before Strictly (I always think that sounds rude and it’s not my intention). But it’s been a real joy to get to know a bit of him these last few weeks. He seems like one of life’s genuinely lovely people and it’s a shame we won’t get to see more of him."
Eddie recently opened up about getting to know Karen. He said the pair had been cracking each other up in rehearsals. “As a comedian, you automatically think, ‘I’m gonna come into this space and she’ll expect me to make her laugh’,” Eddie said. "No! She makes me laugh because she’s just herself. From the very beginning, she was goofy.
"She’ll be doing random things and suddenly she’s on the floor laughing with her legs up in the air, and I’ll be like, ‘what?’ I love this girl, she’s mental.” Karen, the show’s longest-serving professional dancer, set tongues wagging as she attended the Pride of Britain Awards minus her wedding ring.
It was later reported that she split “amicably” from her husband Jordan Wyn-Jones, a fitness professional from Australia whom she wed last year. A source has since told The Mirror: "Karen and Jordan have had a tough time in the past few months and decided to split. It's obviously very sad for both of them, but there's no ill-will whatsoever. The split is amicable, and they wish each other the best."
Karen bravely took to the dance floor after the news went public, performing the American Smooth with Eddie, and putting her personal life on the backburner as she threw herself into the dance.
