Bubba Watson admitted he could be 'kicked out' of the LIV Golf setup if his RangeGoats teammates were left unhappy with his performances on the breakaway setup.
The two-time Masters champion became one of the big names to join LIV last summer and was handed the honour of captaining the RangeGoats for the 2023 season. Overall it has been a successful year for Watson's team which finds itself fourth in the standings heading into this weekend's Team Championship.
Their success has largely been due to the performances of Talor Gooch, who was crowned LIV's 2023 individual champion last week following a second-place finish at LIV Jeddah.

Watson meanwhile has struggled for form throughout the season, finishing 36th out of 48th in the regular campaign. There is no denying the American star has been one of the sport's top players over the past two decades, and has two green jackets to show for it.

Despite his legacy, Watson is more than aware of his current form and believes if he fails to deliver for his RangeGoats teammate he would take a step back from competing. Speaking in August, he said: "I told my team if they don’t think I am good enough to play, they can kick me out and we will put another good golfer in my place.

They are all trying to be better and also better at golf. I get to influence three golfers in life, they are all parents and young dads. I want to be there for them and if they have a problem, I want to be able to help them."
Watson has the chance to be a winning captain in Miami this week, with his four-man team just outside the top three heading into the season finale. Clearly a fan of the team aspect, he added: " “Being on a team, it helps me and helps them. It is fun for me.
"I love playing golf with them and spending time in practice rounds. But if they tell me I am not good enough, I will step out and let some other golfer take my place on the team. But right now I am trying to help the Goats get on the podium again.”
