Hollie Doyle's hopes of riding at next month’s Breeders’ Cup are in serious peril after she picked up a seven-day ban.

Britain's record-breaking female jockey was found guilty of careless riding on the unplaced Rose Light in the penultimate race at Kempton on Monday night.

The stewards ruled she had allowed her mount to drift right on the first bend causing another rival to snatch up, which resulted in three other horses suffering interference. The dates of the ban cover all British Flat racedays from October 30 to November 6.

Unless she is successful in getting the ban overturned at appeal, or the sentence significantly reduced, she will miss both days of the Breeders’ Cup at Santa Anita, California on November 3 and 4.

Doyle was expected to partner Royal Ascot winner Bradsell, who represented her best chance yet of opening her account at the Breeders' Cup where she is winless from four mounts.

The Archie Watson-trained Bradsell won the King's Stand Stakes in June. and is set to run in the Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint.

The suspension ends the day before Doyle is due to make her debut in the Melbourne Cup on November 7 for which she has been booked to partner live local challenger Future History.

It has been a month for 27-year-old Doyle who seven days ago received a one month ban, suspended for 12 months, after failing a drugs test.

A BHA inquiry heard that Doyle, who had fractured and dislocated her left elbow in a fall at Wolverhampton in January, had taken tablets she had bought in Japan, believing they were the common painkiller ibuprofen.
