Hollywood icon Keanu Reeves is all set to take you on a rip-roaring ride with a new high-octane Formula 1 show screeching onto Disney Plus next month.

The Matrix and John Wick star was instantly gripped by the incredible story of Brawn GP - who came out of nowhere to clinch the F1 title in 2009 with drivers Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello. Brawn: The Impossible Formula 1 Story will chronicle the adventure right from the start, with owner Ross Brawn first buying the Honda team all the way through to the outfit's championship win.

What episodes are there?

Variety reported that Reeves spoke to local journalists about the project at the British Grand Prix last year.

Keanu said: “A friend of mine was telling me the story [about Brawn] and I was so struck by it. He [my friend] was actually working for Brawn back in the day in publicity. He’s a producer/director and so we were like ‘Well let’s tell that story, let’s try to tell that story”. He went on to say: “It’s been really great to be able to learn more about what was going on in Formula One that year. It wasn’t just the cars, new regulations, FOTA [the Formula One Teams Association] breakaway series.

“I mean there was just so much happening in Formula One at that time. The world of F1 was just extraordinary. I mean, it’s always extraordinary, but in that year with Brawn GP I think something really special happened.”

Speaking earlier this year at the Edinburgh TV Festival, the show director Sean Doyle said: "“We’ve spent the past year making ambitious documentaries with exclusive access to A-list names with the best creative talent in the business. It’s been great to see the reactions to Finding Michael and Save Our Squad with David Beckham and I can’t wait for audiences to see what else we’ve been up to and discover stories they may not expect to see on Disney+.”

Brawn: The Impossible Formula 1 Story lands on Disney Plus on November 15.
