Slaphead boxer Tyson Fury has it all to fight fur in his latest bout – after being offered a free hair transplant if he wins.

The heavyweight world champion, renowned for his bobbing and weaving, combed the world for a hair-raising opponent and will slug it out with MMA colossus Francis Ngannou later this month. And if he wins, Ngannou has offered him a barnet that guarantees a brush with greatness after being thrilled by his own hair surgery.

A source said: “Francis quietly had a hair transplant behind the scenes as his team [negotiated] with the Fury camp about the fight. The pair became quite close friends at this time during the early stages of a possible fight last year and Francis cheekily offered Fury the free transplant at the clinic he went to as a sweetener to their deal.

“He was sure Fury would say yes and get his old hair back. It was a winner takes all offer and Fury agreed as he was certain he would win. But I’m sure Francis will follow through with the gift even if he wins himself.”

Ngannou, 37, had the surgery in spring last year at a clinic in Istanbul, Turkey. He told fans: “Don’t think I changed my hairstyle, I’m just working on making it even better. I’m not ready to go bald yet so I took the magic solution from [the clinic].”

The 6ft 4in Cameroonian-French former mixed martial arts heavyeight champ, nicknamed The Predator, makes his professional boxing debut against WBC title holder Fury, 35, in Saudi Arabia on Saturday, October 28. Fury, set to earn close to £40million from the bout, lost his hair over the past decade.

It is not known if the 6ft 9in Gypsy King would take up the offer of the new hairline – and then, perhaps, the new nickname Tyson Furry. The star, based in Morecambe, Lancs, previously said people should embrace baldness.

He said: “The Rock’s bald and he’s the most famous actor in the world. It doesn’t bother him. I used to have a lion’s mane of hair but lost it all. Did I let it get me down? Nope. Use it as a positive – you don’t have to get it cut all the time.”
