The Razer Blade 14 gaming laptop from Razer boasts an AMD CPU and Nvidia graphics but comes in at a pretty high price point.

Hunting for the perfect gaming laptop can be rough given the wide range of options on the market. If you've got the budget to opt for something on the pricier side then the Razer Blade 14 is a fantastic option with an AMD Ryzen 9 7940HS processor, Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 GPU, and 240Hz QHD+ screen which has a 2560 x 1600 resolution. Whether you're a fan of new AAA titles or just like to play the old classics, the Razer Blade 14 is able to run both at a reasonable level of output.

The Razer Blade 14 has a range of customisable options which can change the price point, however, the one we reviewed came in at £2,499.99 / $2,399.99 / AU$4,499. This makes it a pricey option, but given the performance, design, and reliability, it's worth splashing the cash here given your budget allows.

Razer Blade 14 design and features

One of the first things you'll likely notice about the Razer Blade 14 is how lightweight it is for a gaming laptop, coming in at just 1.84kg. It's extremely thin at just 17.99mm and has a metallic black finish, which doesn't pick up too many fingerprints but is one of those materials that is prone to scratching. The bezels on the side of the laptop are super thin, making for a beautiful-looking screen that has a 240Hz refresh rate and is 2560 x 1600.

Razer Blade 14 specs

You get 2 x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A Ports to connect peripherals to your laptop as well as 2 x USB 4 Type-C for charging and display outputs. You can also take advantage of 1 x HDMI 2.1 output.

Razer Blade 14 performance

The Razer Blade 14 lets you play games and stream at a really high level, which is what you'd expect from a laptop with these specs. Both the CPU and GPU provide high-performance outputs, meaning you don't have to worry about your system bottlenecking.

3D Mark Benchmarks:

3D Mark game performance:

You're able to play a wide range of games on the Razer Blade 14, but it's worth noting that the laptop reaches quite high temps, with an average resting temp of 49 degrees Celsius with no games running. The maximum temp the laptop reached was 78 degrees.

Overall thoughts on the Razer Blade 14

If you're looking for a high-performance gaming laptop with the ability to play and stream AAA games, then the Razer Blade 14 is a great option, but it is a premium one. Setting you back £2,499.99 / $2,399.99 / AU$4,499, you'd expect this type of performance out of the Razer Blade 14. Another benefit is the fact that the Razer Blade 14 is ultra slim and very lightweight making it a great portable option. However, one thing to keep in mind is the fact that this laptop can get quite hot so be sure to ensure it has sufficient airflow.

Score: 4/5
