Harry Kane celebrated football coming home again with Euro 2028 - and promised: “I’ll be there.”
England captain Kane would be 34 at the start of the tournament which has been awarded to the United Kingdom and Ireland as joint hosts.
Kane, who met Prime Minister Rishi Sunak at St George’s Park, has played a part in the bid and says it will be another “special” occasion as Wembley is set to host the final.
Bayern Munich star Kane said: “I feel as good as I have ever felt before and yes, I would like to think my career will go to my late thirties - at least.
“When you look at a lot of the top-level players - Ronaldo, Messi, Lewandowski, Ibrahimovic - they have almost got better as they hit 30. In a lot of sports that happens as well.

“Everything is maybe settled in your personal life. You have got family, you have got kids - so that side is all settled. You are comfortable with your body, you are comfortable mentally where you are at and that just allows you to focus on the football.
“I definitely think there are levels and being at Bayern Munich now I can keep pushing myself to see how good I can get.” Kane is England's record scorer but is also one of the oldest members of a squad which still has years of potential ahead.
They came so close to winning the Euros two years ago but Kane also says winning it in their own country is even more special. Wembley staged six home games in Euro 2020 but it was still post-Covid so attendances were restricted.
He added: “We had an amazing experience in Euro 2020 in terms of having six of the games at Wembley so it felt like a home tournament for us. Although there were not all the fans in the stadium, we still got amazing support.
“Being here and seeing the atmosphere outside the grounds on the way in on the coach gave us a real special feeling and obviously we came within a couple of kicks of winning the trophy. So that definitely gave us more energy and more belief.
“That will do the same in 2028. Having full stadiums and all our fans there, the country excited about it will definitely help. I think you saw that with the Lionesses as well. I was there for the final and saw how much it meant to the fans.
“The atmosphere not just inside the stadium but outside and the Lionesses were able to get a win. That would be our main objective. To win any tournament with your country is difficult but to do it on your home patch would be just another notch up.”
