The actor, 50, announced in August last year that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer. She has since had treatment, including undergoing chemotherapy.

More recently, Samantha - who also had a piece of tissue and five lymph nodes removed in an operation last year - revealed a few weeks ago that she was 'cancer-free'.

And she has now opened up about her plans for 2023, revealing in a new interview that she wants to embrace the mindset that "there will be no guarantees for tomorrow".

Samantha said that whilst she doesn't have cancer at the moment, she doesn't ever want to be "in denial" about the possibility of it coming back sometime in the future.

"It's weird because you're cancer-free ... for now. Anyone that's had cancer will know that it will always be something you have to consider may come back at some point," she said.

The actor suggested it's how "that voice" affects you that matters. She said that "worrying" about a recurrence would be a waste of time as no one knows what the future holds.

Samantha said she had a "really special" Christmas with her partner Oliver Farnworth, 40, and her kids Benjamin, 21, and Lily, 17. Her ex-husband Mark Womack, 61, was also involved.

And she revealed in the interview with OK! magazine that she will find out in the coming weeks if she needs to have more preventative chemotherapy.

Samantha said that she is grateful to have "got it out" and "caught it early", with her adding that so she will do "whatever" to make sure the cancer doesn't come back.
