Russell Brand’s dad has shared a vile Facebook rant which appears to attack the women accusing his son of sexual misconduct.

Ron Brand, 80, posted a conspiracy theorist’s video days after it was revealed his son was the focus of a second criminal inquiry. The tirade says: “As soon as you get too big and start speaking sense to your following, some blackmailed women or p***ed off ex date is going to come out of the woodwork by orders of the matrix.

“Now I’m not saying anyone is guilty or innocent but when you’re on top and you get money and swag and options you never need to rape anybody.” The video, which has thousands of likes, attempts to link Brand’s rape allegation to those of Donald Trump, Julian Assange and Andrew Tate. Tonight, Tory MP Nigel Mills said: “This is shocking. It shows social media can be a cesspit.”

Brand denies the claims, which were revealed following a year-long investigation by Channel 4’s Dispatches and The Sunday Times. Ron, who has previously defended his son, was approached for comment.
