The transfer window is now officially open and Arsenal are expected to be busy as they attempt to hold onto top spot in the Premier League.

Shakhtar Donetsk forward Mykhaylo Mudryk continues to be linked with a switch to the Emirates Stadium with talks ongoing between the two clubs. Elsewhere, rumours over a swoop for Leicester City playmaker Youri Tielemans refuse to go away.

Whether either of those two materialise between now and the end of the month remains to be seen, but the Gunners’ business is expected to really kick into gear now the window is open. With that being said, here are the most intriguing transfer rumours coming out of the Emirates Stadium at the start of 2023:

Juventus plan Vlahovic swap deal

A name that will certainly be familiar to supporters of the Gunners, Dusan Vlahovic was very strongly linked with a switch to North London before signing for Juventus 12 months ago. He could be on his way to Arsenal after all with an audacious swap deal apparently in the offing.

As per CalcioMercatoWeb, Juve boss Max Allegri is very interested in Gunners starlet Bukayo Saka. A straight transfer appears out of the Italian club’s budget but they could potentially offer Serbian forward Vlahovic in part-exchange.

It seems highly unlikely that Arsenal would accept or even entertain the sale of Saka in the immediate future but interest in Vlahovic could certainly be one to keep an eye on heading into the summer.

Gunners lead Rabiot race

From one Juventus star to another now with the Gunners reportedly among a clutch of clubs chasing the services of French midfielder Adrien Rabiot. The former PSG star is out of contract in the summer and is now able to start negotiating with non-Italian clubs regarding a Bosman move.

As per CalcioMercatoWeb, the Gunners are among a number of clubs eyeing a move having been convinced by his excellent displays at the World Cup in Qatar. It is suggested that Arsenal would be willing to bide their time with a move and secure the 27-year-old on a free transfer in just a matter of months’ time.

AC Milan eye Balogun

Staying in Serie A and it appears that one of Arsenal’s most exciting young talents has a number of admirers. Following his bright start to life during his loan spell with French side Reims, academy graduate Folarin Balogun is being eyed by Italian giants AC Milan.

As per reports in the country, the Rossoneri have been left hugely impressed by his contributions in France and are eyeing him as they attempt to find a replacement for veteran duo Olivier Giroud and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Balogun has three-and-a-half years left on the long term deal he penned in North London.
