The Tennessee Titans released their long-term left tackle, Taylor Lewan, earlier this month in a cap-saving move, with Lewan leaving the team after nine years.

Lewan had been one of the better left tackles in the league during his time, making three Pro Bowl teams from 2016 to 2018. But with his salary set to be sky-high, the Titans took the tough option to cut him and save $14million, money needed to improve their roster elsewhere.

And while he left a touching message to the Titans franchise and fans after being cut, the 31-year-old revealed just how brutal the NFL can be.

The Bussin With The Boys podcast host revealed that the team savagely dropped off his football equipment on his front door after he was released. Lewan posted a pic of the scene to Twitter on Monday which showed 3 bags on his doorstep which appear to have all of his training gear in.

He tweeted: "Shout out to the @Titans dropping my stuff off today. They even let me keep the shoulder pads." Dozens of fans have reacted to the image, with one saying: "They really treating him like an ex girlfriend, damn," with another adding: "No way, I know it's a business but damn."

Former rival Chandler Jones tweeted: "Your next chapter will be even better than before! Keep going brother!".

Lewan has admitted that he has considered retirement, but will likely first see what he's able to get on the open market, potentially being one of the more sought-after players available with left tackle always being an important position for team's to look to upgrade at.

But his market may not as be hot as it once was after suffering two ACL tears, missing time in 2020 and 2022, missing 26 of his last 50 games.

The NFL free agency period will officially begin on March 15, the day the new season gets underway. However, players will be able to speak to teams and agree deals two days prior to this - known as the 'legal tampering period'.

This years free agent class will be headlined by Lamar Jackson, Geno Smith, Jimmy Garoppolo, Daniel Jones, Derek Carr, Daron Payne, Javon Hargreave and Orlando Brown Jr.
