Nicole Scherzinger has shared plans to wed her fiancé Thom Evans in a luxurious ceremony in Hawaii. And the former Pussycat Doll shared that the couple have opted for a meaningful detail on their special day.
The ceremony will be conducted in Hawaii by none other than Nicole's grandfather in a touching nod to the closeness of her family. They will then host a reception "somewhere in Europe," the 45-year-old has said.
Nicole, who is currently staring as Norma Desmond in Sunset Boulevard on the West End, first met Thom when he took part in Celebrity X Factor in 2019. The 38-year-old rugby player revealed how he didn't think he had a chance with the songstress at first, but plucked up the courage to ask her out and the rest is history.
The former Scottish international rugby union player credits his grandmother with helping him, as her motto was always 'if you don't ask, you don't get.' Thom said there was an instant attraction between himself and Nicole, and their relationship quickly went from strength to strength.
And the gorgeous couple announced their engagement over summer after Thom got down on one knee during a trip to Vila Nova de Gaia in Portugal back in June. Nicole shared a picture of the couple on a beach with her hands clasped around her mouth in shock as Thom held out a ring box.
Royle Family's Ricky Tomlinson pelted with knickers on stage by raunchy fansThanking her fans for their well wishes, Nicole said: "Thank you so much for all your beautiful birthday wishes and kind messages from our engagement. What a week…still on [cloud] 9." But she has been distracted from wedding planning due to her preparations to play Norma on the stage.
When friends have asked her about wedding plans, Nicole told Sunday Times Culture that she responds: "'Yo, I gotta find Norma Desmond. Until I find her, and I open this show, and I am proud of it, I'm not thinking of anything else'."
The musical adaption of Sunset Boulevard sees Nicole cover herself in blood in terrifying scenes. The show is currently running at the Savoy Theatre in London, where it is set to remain for 16-weeks.
Following her long run in the capital, Nicole says that her and Thom's 'base' will always be in Britain, but that the pair enjoy travelling 'a lot'. She has been open about wanting to get married in the past, and previously said she wanted to meet someone who would make "the heavens sing" on their wedding day.
Speaking to The Express, Nicole previously said: "My greatest weakness is - I'm a fool for love. A real sucker....The bravest thing I've ever done is loving someone and letting them go when you know it's not healthy for you, or serving you. Then you're finally loving yourself.
"I'd like to get married one day. I'm looking for a wedding, my wedding. I think the heavens will sing when I get married." Her ex-partners include Formula 1 star Lewis Hamilton and Nick Cannon.
