Soap actor Adam Thomas has shared an emotional social media post after he and dance partner Luba Mushtuk were berated on Strictly Come Dancing for not performing well enough.
Sunday night will see the first celebrity and professional partner of the season eliminated after each of the fifteen pairings gave there all on the dance floor on Saturday night. And 35-year-old Adam appears to have hinted he could be on the chopping block as he shared a lengthy social media post analysing what happened on Saturday night's episode of Strictly Come Dancing.
The former Emmerdale actor is partnered with 33-year-old Russian professional dancer Luba and on Saturday night they showed off their Cha-cha-cha while dancing to the sound of the Jonas Brothers’ song Waffle House. And despite looking happy to be on the dance floor, judges Shirley Ballas, Anton Du Beke, Motsi Mabuse and Craig Revel Horwood awarded the couple some of the worst scores of the night.
Taking to Instagram on Sunday - hours before his fate would be revealed in the results show episode - Adam shared a snap of himself and Luba dancing together. He wrote: “Hey just want to thank you all for your kind words last night !!
“Looking back it wasn’t so bad... but I know I could have done better, and I just beat myself up because of it! I give myself the hardest time sometimes but it’s just tough when you work so hard in training and then you fall at the last hurdle! … I just think I put too much pressure on myself and the nerves got the better of me! But look we’re all human it happens just got to pick myself up and carry on !”
Strictly's Molly Rainford and Tyler West fuel romance rumours while on tourHe added: “Also to everyone who danced last night including the pros… just another show stopping performance yet again!! @lubamushtuk i adore you!! Thank you for being so special x”.
Luba herself responded to the post, writing: "so proud of you" in response - along with a string of red heart emojis. And fellow contestant Angela Scanlon also praised Adam for his dancing. She wrote: "It was INSANE pal xx so proud of you."
Actress and fellow celebrity contestant Amanda Abbington wrote: "Glorious. I adore both of you so much." While a number of soap stars also backed Adam with Coronation Street's Brooke Vivincent gushing that he was "Smashing it" and Helen Flanagan replied with clapping hands emojis.
Meanwhile, some Strictly viewers took to Adam's post to blast the judges for treating him so harshly. One raged in the comments: "I feel the judges are being harsh. You are far better than the same scores and some others there. I was absolutely gob smacked. Do better judges."
