Strictly's Jowita shut down Naga's question on BBC Breakfast

Strictly Come Dancing professional and last year's winner Jowita Prystal shut down Naga Munchetty's question on BBC Breakfast as she joined the show with her latest partner Jody Cundy.

The pairing were asked to discuss their experience together on the show so far, but Jowita was quizzed on what it was like to return to the series after winning last year with Countyfrile cameraman Hamza Yassin. Naga asked: "This is probably an unfair question but I'll ask it anyway. How does he compare to how Hamza was in the early days."

Jowita replied: "I cannot compare them because they're two different people and I will never do that. I said it's a new book, new page and we're riding it together and there's no on else there. It's just me and Jody and I'm focused on Jody because our journey is now and here just us together."

Charlie quipped: "A very diplomatic answer" while Naga added: "Although Jody will ask you over and over again 'Am I as good', well I would anyway." The Paralympian and Strictly professional went on to address the challenges they face ahead of their second dance, which is also the first elimination of the series.

Jowita explained: "This week is a completely different dance, so it's the Paso Doble, it is Latin, not Ballroom. So we got comments from judges that we need a bit more confidence from Jody so that is the thing that we are working on right now."

Jody added: "In the Paso you need confidence," as Naga noted: "So you have to channel, kind of, your almost flippant remark, the understatement of the show by the way, 'I have done alright haven't I?' You need to channel... because you must have that arrogance and that confidence, and I don't mean that negatively when you go into competition... surely? So you can bring that to the dancefloor?"

Jowita interjected: "Do you have that? Because I am literally looking, I am pleading for that every day and there is none! He is just a humble and sweet person and honestly...," to which Naga suggested Jody's role as a Paralympian would give him that competitive nature.

Jody replied: "When I am racing I have got years of performance behind me and I know exactly what I am doing and I know how I am going to perform, and everything else.

"But the dancing I have four days behind me and it's like I don't even know which way I am going, left or right so I have no confidence."
